About The Speaker
associate director, Solea Management
Tara Persaud read both her degrees at Royal Holloway, University of London – a joint honours Music and German BA, and a MA in modern German and Austrian culture, for which she received a full grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Since graduating she has worked in several sectors within classical music.
She spent a year and a half working for Boosey & Hawkes, moving on to IMG Artists where she became an Associate Manager and looked after such artists as Hilary Hahn, Joshua Bell, Edward Gardner and Evelyn Glennie during her time there. Tara then spent five years in charge of concerts, tours and recordings at the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, which counts Joshua Bell and Murray Perahia as named artistic partners. She then moved on to EMI Classics, where after an initial temporary role a post was created for her, and continued, after the sale of the classical business to Warner Music Group, as Senior Manager for A&R and Business Development for Warner Classics International. After seven years there Tara has recently returned to artist management, having started a new role as Associate Director of Solea Management in Paris.
Tara is the chair of the board of trustees for Street Orchestra Live, the UK’s first pop-up orchestra dedicated to giving performances of classical music to everyone, anywhere. She is an also active amateur violinist, avid reader and regular theatre-goer.
