Charlotte Gardner is a music critic, journalist and writer specialising (but not exclusively) in strings and Baroque.

The magazines within whose pages she’s most regularly to be found are The Strad, Gramophone, Classical Music Magazine and Opera Now. Organisations and ensembles for whom she writes concert programme notes include the BBC and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She’s also active in the world of specialist Classical music streaming, working as a curator and presenter on the streaming-service-cum-radio-station Grammofy, writing a monthly column for Takt1, and a playlist column for dCS Only the Music.

Before turning to writing, Charlotte spent eight years at the BBC working across live and pre-recorded radio and television, beginning on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and spending her final few years on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Holds a Music MA from the University of Cambridge.
